5 Reasons Why Little Caesars Pizza is So Cheap

There’s a good chance you already know that Little Caesars is a popular pizza chain that’s been in operation for slightly over six decades now. Since it opened its doors in Garden City, Michigan, in 1959, it’s been able to give other large national pizza restaurants a run for their money. But why is Little Caesar’s pizza so cheap?

5 Reasons Why Little Caesars Pizza is So Cheap 1

If you’re in a hurry, I’ll give you a fast and quick answer – Little Caesars partners with retailers for discounted ingredients to allow for low prices. They also make some of their ingredients in-house to cut costs. Beyond the ingredients themselves, however, there are other reasons why Little Caesars menu prices are lower than other major pizza chains.

Today, you’ll learn why Little Caesar’s restaurants sell pizza for cheap, yet they manage to make a profit. You’ll also get to know why this is the go-to pizzeria for customers looking for low prices and convenience. I’d love that you read on if you wish to learn more.

Reasons Why Little Caesars Pizza Is the Least Expensive

1. They Take Shortcuts with the Cheese

They Take Shortcuts with the Cheese

Little Caesars restaurants strive to cut down on cheese to save money on every pizza slice. As you might be aware, cheese contributes to about 40% of a pizza’s cost.

Little Caesar’s restaurants counter this relatively high price by using 100% mozzarella cheese prepared from real milk. This pre-shredded cheese has low water content. As a result, it can be stored for much longer.

Also, this is real cheese, with no starches or flavors. And it’s great for making Veg and Non-Veg Pizzas. Because this cheese offers a longer shelf life, Little Caesars can keep costs low.

2. They Make their Dough and Sauce In House

They Make their Dough and Sauce In House

Another reason why Little Caesar’s pizza is so cheap is that the dough and sauce are made in-house to cut costs. This national pizza chain makes enough dough to produce close to three million pizzas a day.  Note that buying ready to use dough and sauce is more expensive than making these ingredients in the store.

Despite making it in-house, Little Caesar’s dough is exceptionally fresh. Also, the in-house sauce is so concentrated that water is added to it. You’ll find that the regular crust and regular sauce are both vegans.

However, you can special-order the Crazy Bread from any Little Caesar’s restaurant near you. Often, this comes stuffed with some Crazy Sauce on the side. It also does not contain Parmesan cheese.

3. They Supplement their Pizza with Crazy Bread

They Supplement their Pizza with Crazy Bread

Little Caesars believes that stuffed Crazy Bread is the perfect platform to complement the pizza. The stuffed Crazy Bread is pretty much the same as the brand’s popular soft breadsticks, which are typically topped with parmesan cheese, butter, and garlic. Nevertheless, the Crazy Bread has much more melty cheese inside than the soft breadsticks.

It’s more cost-effective to bake the Crazy Bread than the pizza. And that’s why Little Caesars sells it for only $3. The Crazy Bread typically comes as a three-piece package containing eight breadsticks covered with butter and garlic.

It also features a dusting of parmesan cheese with a side of crazy sauce. Some Little Caesar stores sell the stuffed Crazy Bread via the Little Caesars mobile app. Therefore, making your order is easy peasy.

4. They Let the Customer Come Into their Store

They Let the Customer Come Into their Store

While most other pizza chains are chasing delivery, Little Caesars makes the customer come into the store for a cheap pizza. It costs the company less than $2 to make a cheese pizza, which they then sell for as little as $5. This alone makes Little Caesars the go-to pizzeria for customers seeking low prices.

Furthermore, by letting the customer come to them, this chain can then upsell them sodas and chicken wings. Of course, you can always order these items elsewhere, but Little Caesars has them. And picking these items together with the pizza can save you a great deal of time.

Actually, this is one of the few pizza chains offering safe and inexpensive meals. This is because customers don’t touch the food directly when they arrive at the store. Instead, Little Caesars lets them bypass the counter and head over to the Pizza Portal compartments to receive their order.

Customers use their mobile phones to scan a QR code and retrieve their hot, fresh pizza directly from a heated compartment. The Pizza Portal Pickup allows for a contactless pickup experience. What’s more, you can dash in and out of the store in less time than it would take you in many fast-food restaurants.

The video below demonstrates how to use the Little Caesars Pizza Portal Pickup lockers for online pizza orders:

5. Their Toppings Are Carefully Proportioned

Their Toppings Are Carefully Proportioned

Little Caesars restaurants apportion their toppings so that they’re as even as possible. Cheese and meat usually cost more than other ingredients. Depending on suppliers, the two ingredients can cost anywhere from $1.50 to $4.

Little Caesars restaurants try to cut costs by using less cheese and meat in their pizza. Generally speaking, this pizza chain probably offers the least cheese of any pizzeria in the country. Don’t get me wrong, though.

Little Caesars uses quality ingredients, including a blend of fresh mozzarella and Muenster cheese. They also use vine-ripened, fresh-packed California crushed tomatoes to make their sauce. At Little Caesars, one large topping Hot-N-Ready pizza goes for as low as $5.

Obviously, this is an excellent price for a high-quality pizza. Little Caesar’s outstanding value targets low- and middle-income families looking for a large proportion of pizza to feed the whole family. It’s also a great choice for students who don’t have enough money to fund their food budget.

What’s the Most Nutritious Pizza at Little Caesars?

What's the Most Nutritious Pizza at Little Caesars

There are various pizza crust options at Little Caesars, but most items on their menu are high in calories, sodium, and saturated fat. It’s best to eat these pizzas in moderation or, better yet, opt for plain pizza with low-calorie toppings and sauces. You might also want to stick to a side salad and vegetables for added fiber and nutrition.

Here are the most nutritious menu items at Little Caesars:

This is considered as Little Caesar’s best value pizza. With the ExtraMostBestest Hot-N-Ready pizza, you choose between three different toppings: cheese, pepperoni, and sausage.

Beyond its signature thin-crust, Little Caesars has something in store for deep dish fans as well. The Hot-N-Ready Deep! Deep! Dish Pizza has a thicker crust and a heartier base. It’s the Chicago-style pizza featuring extra dough and more toppings.

Due to the added calories and fat, it’s one of Little Caesar’s least nutritious pizzas. If you’re on a diet, you’ll want to choose Cheese Deep! Deep! from this menu category. It contains 312 calories and 11g of fat per serving. Other nutrients per serving of cheese Deep! Deep! include 15g protein, 40g carbs, 5g saturated fat, and 521mg sodium.

ExtraMostBestest Thin Crust Pizza

The ExtraMostBestest Thin Crust Cheese Pizza contains just 247 calories and 14g fat. There’s also 12g protein, 19g carbs, 6g saturated fat, and 423mg sodium. The Pepperoni thin crust option isn’t far behind cheese either. It contains 272 calories and 17g of fat.

Final Thoughts

It goes without saying that Little Caesars is among the heavyweight chains in the country. Surprisingly, they keep their prices low, and there are plenty of choices to choose from their menu. More importantly, the chain prioritizes cleanliness above all else.

You’ll love that both carry-out and delivery options at Little Caesars are contactless. If you order your pizza using the Little Caesars mobile app, your hot, fresh pizza will be left on the front doorstep for a contactless experience. To say the least, Little Caesars enables customers to enjoy both worlds of affordability and cleanliness.

  1. OM Goodness TY soo much. I have my beloved 91-yr-old Daddo in the hospital – and kudos to those fine cafeteria staff but I am there after your hours – so you my man, are my new Food University. Scientific and wonderfully understandable, especially with the anticipated mouthful! More!

  2. I went to Little Caesar’s pizza on Fulton Ave. Sacramento. CA. Two times recently. I asked the counter persons what kind of cheese they used. Both times, both people had no idea what kind. One asked a second employee if he knew. He didn’t, and could only come up with “regular cheese”. And then “pizza cheese”. They don’t care to find out, either. Tell them. “Go on line”.
